Accumulating a huge number of unread emails from promotions, notifications, or other types of frequent messages takes no time at all. It’s easy to let them stack up by only skimming subject lines instead of opening every “30% off!” offer that hits your inbox.

But when you’re unread number reaches the hundreds or even thousands, you might lose a needle in that haystack.

If you’re ready for a clean slate, follow these steps:

1.) From your Gmail inbox, click the check box in the upper-left.
2. ) Click “Select all conversations in Inbox”
3. ) Click in the open envelope icon to “mark as read”
4. ) In the “Confirm bulk action” box, click “OK”

Your unread emails are cleared!

To prevent unread email build-up going forward, try creating filters and labels. It helps sort your incoming emails so you can closely monitor high- priority messages.
